| IMPROVED NEW ROAD ACCESS TO Penny’s |
Several years of our efforts discussing our bad road access with local government and with neighbours, has at last born fruit, so now,from March 2010, a proper new concrete road has been completed and you can go now between us and the main road easily.
Happily the old dirt road problems that we had always in the past rainy seasons are now definitely over. The local people call the road now "Soi TOT" (Si means road)

| ACCESS BRIDGE TO KLONG PRAO BEACH HAS BEEN REPAIRED |
The old wooden beach access bridge which was in a very dangerouscondition for the last 2 years
and which used to add a little extra adventure to reaching the beach that way, hasnow been repaired.
The new bridge is actually made from concrete, but it still looks like wood
(Thais are really artistic in that) and the whole thing is much nicer because now it's close to the sea

| NEW BANK CHARGES IN THAILAND |
Penny would like to advise all visitors who are planning to travel to Thailand this year that the local banks have intoduced new fees for all foreigncreit cards since April 2009.
On every cash withdrawal, a 150 Baht charge is now added by Thai banks.
We recommend you to make your withdrawalin one larger transaction in order to avoid paying this extra fee several times on smaller transactactions.
By the way, credit cards issued in Thailand don't incur this charge:-[
(but it would be foolish to feel resentful about that) |

| Our new taxi driver |
Penny’s took on a new taxi driver in January 2009.
His name is Noi and we can proudly say that he is a really careful driver.
So whenever you would like to use our taxi service, relax, and you will be safe.

| White Sands Beach (Hat Sai Kow) construction area |
It seems that the construction works at White Sands beach area are still a never-ending story.
This picture shows an area near the centre where noise is unfortunately also included 
Maybe just one more reason to spend your holidays not so close to the centre...Penny’s is just a few driving minutes away from White Sands Beach, but is situated in quiet and natural surroundings

| Now open: new restaurant and luxury bungalows |
During the summer season of 2007/08 Penny’s upgraded the restaurant and built an extra 16 new luxury bungalows, Three two-room family bungalows (these double bungalows don't have an internal connecting door - they simply share the same balcony) and 10 more luxury double bungalows.
Our new restaurant will surely make it easy for you to find good cooking, good value, and culinary delights right by your bungalow doorstep.

| Wi-Fi |
| We are trying Wi-fi. We have a 4MB but sometimes intermittent ADSL broadband link from TOT, our local telephone provider, and this is available to any of our guests who bring their 802.11 wireless-equipped notebooks with them. Our signal penetrates into many of our bungalow bedrooms, and provided the TOT system is operating properly, which unfortunately is not all of the time, you should be able to enjoy free internet access during your stay. |

| Paying to Penny’s by credit card |
You may settle your Penny’s bill either by cash in Thai baht or by credit card. We are now also offering credit card payments for your booking deposits on a trial basis via Paypal. Our Paypal trial for credit cards comes in addition to Moneybookers, which we have been offering for some time.
Both PayPal and Moneybookers are economical secure on-line systems for sending payments by e-mail. Paypal is easier to use, while Moneybookers is cheaper. |

| Hospital on Koh Chang |
The well known private Bangkok Hospital-group has built a new hospital on Koh Chang. It is located only 1 kilometer from Pennys. The new hospital is included in the Bangkok Hospital chain and is named Bangkok-Koh Chang International hospital. It is a good complement to the Bangkok-Trat hospital. Trat is our nearest town centre on the mainland.

| We have upgraded our cable-tv system. You can now enjoy around 40 channels. |

| Sun and wind protection |
| We have erected sun and wind protection on all of our bungalows and at our restaurant. They also serve as rain protection. Sometimes, the sun can be strong and sometimes the weather gods are playing a game with is. But fear not, because you have now somewhere to "hide". If you are enjoying a meal at our restaurant, you can eat in peace without getting fried up or getting wet if there is some raining going on. |

| Excursions, Tours and Experiences |
Why not do some touring or excursions ?. It is a good way to look around and get a picture of the surroundings.
Here are just a few examples what we can help to arrange for you:
* A 4-island boat tour to the four islands around Koh Chang
* Diving, snorkeling, fishing, jungletrekking
* Daytours to the mainland (Trat, Chantaburi etc
* Visa trips (to renew your visa if you want to stay long in Thailand
* Flight reservations to Bangkok and other places
* Bus tickets to Cambodia, Bangkok and others
If you would like to do something else than listed above, do not hesitate to ask us. All things that can be arranged are too long to write here. So just ask us and we will do our best to try to arrange it for you. |

| Barbecue on the beach |
Imagine that you sit on the beach, just some steps from the water. The sun is setting
in the sea, calm and nice. Add to this a BBQ with some nice thai-food and tasty drinks, good friends and happiness. Ask us and we will see what we can arrange for you. |

| Rent a Scooter or car ? |
At Penny’s, we have our very own scooter renting service for our guests. Our scooters are Honda 100cc-110cc, semi-automatic. Easy to drive.
If you prefer a full automatic scooter or another kind, maybe an ordinary motorbike or a car, then tell us. We cooperate with several renting agencies on Koh Chang. |
